Founded in 1964, Newport County Community Mental Health Center provides trauma informed evidence-based services to children, adolescents, families, and adults who are experiencing problems with mental illness, substance abuse or stress in their lives that would benefit from counseling and other behavioral health services and supports. Our person-centered recovery approach to care offers individuals a chance to achieve a better quality of life and recovery from emotional illness.

The Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health practice at Newport Hospital represents a partnership between Bradley and Newport hospitals to address the greater need for pediatric mental health care in Newport County. Wei Song, MD, a psychiatrist, offers a full range of outpatient services to Newport families as an extension of Bradley Hospital. Children between the ages of 3 and 17 years are accepted for evaluation. The program was made possible by grants from the Van Beuren Charitable Foundation.

The Samaritans of Rhode Island

Phoenix House New England, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) substance use treatment organization, was founded in 1967 in Providence, Rhode Island, and has grown throughout the region to serve more than 3,500 men and women annually through 20 programs in four states.

AdCare Rhode Island

Detox is a crucial aspect of the inpatient program, as it addresses the body’s physical/chemical dependence on a substance. Going through detox allows individuals to rid their body of toxins, and to focus on the emotional and psychological elements of healing. AdCare Rhode Island provides medically-monitored withdrawal management services for a range of addictive substances. The focus is on monitoring withdrawal symptoms and medicating as appropriate to insure a safe withdrawal. Additionally, the clinical program introduces the disease concept of addiction and the principles of a healthy recovery.

Gateway Healthcare – Caritas

Gateway Healthcare provides outstanding treatment, intervention and prevention services to adults and children of all cultural and economic backgrounds with behavioral and substance abuse issues, through its residential, outpatient and community-based programs. With numerous locations across the state, Gateway Healthcare delivers services to more than 25,000 Rhode Islanders each year.

BH Link

BH Link is a behavioral health facility designed to provide immediate assistance to a person in crisis by providing innovative crisis intervention services, and connecting people to ongoing treatment and care. Services are provided by our professional team of registered nurses, counselors, psychiatrists, phone screeners, and peer specialists. Our clinicians will listen to clients’ concerns and take the necessary steps to get people through their crisis, and help make connections to longer term services if needed.

The Family Task Force

MA & RI Poison Control Center and Prevention

The Regional Center for Poison Control and Prevention is a not-for-profit organization that provides assistance and expertise in the medical diagnosis, management and prevention of poisonings involving the people of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In addition to serving the public by staffing the Poison Help Hotline 24 hours a day, seven days a week, our staff of doctors, nurses and pharmacists work to educate the public, collaborate with other professionals, and to extend the reach of our poison prevention message.
